Prismatic Lithium Battery Cell Compress Machine
A Square Cell Compressor is a specialized industrial machine designed for the battery manufacturing and recycling industries. Its primary function is to apply a highly controlled and precise compressive force to prismatic (square or rectangular) lithium-ion battery cells.
Battery Manufacturing: Used during the formation process where new cells are charged for the first time. Compression improves lithium-ion intercalation and ensures proper solid electrolyte interface (SEI) formation, enhancing cell capacity and longevity.
Battery Recycling: A crucial step in pre-processing. Compressing cells safely discharges them of residual energy and flattens them, making them safer and easier to handle, crush, and shred in subsequent recycling steps.
Quality Testing & R&D: Used in laboratories to test the mechanical integrity, safety vents, and performance of cell designs under compression.
